As Christians we can be enriched monetarily and materially in this life. Practically speaking, people could and should use monetary riches to become further enriched with the spiritual riches. For example, we pay thousands of dollars to attend universities to get academic degrees in the biblical text. We buy Bibles with the money we make from working. Church members collectively pay a preacher to deliver a message from God’s word and pay for the building in which to worship. All that money in the end is used toward enriching themselves or others spiritually.
Without the money how would the person be able to attend the university, the bibles be printed, the church keep the building’s lights on, or the minister support his family. Well, most likely people who are living an enriched life will need to enrich others. Money should be used to be rich toward God. “…18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share… 1 Tim. 6:18[1]
