Hebrews 12:1–2
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Frustration with a capital F is what comes to mind when I think of getting things done for God.
This is not a complaint but being aware of feelings and circumstance. Now, you need context to all of this, right?
So what is it? Really, it can be a work schedule, children, a dog, chores around the home.
What about being tired? Eating, we all need to eat? Sleeping, we all have to sleep?
Also being able to spend time with your family. Understand, that is not bad.
Must we love on people as men of God, Yes!
Must we take care of the small things, Yes!
Men of God have a purpose that reaches above the daily routines and the one off stuff.
The unbridled life seems cool and fun. God would not support that life.
We must shave off sin, cut out of our lives the stuff that does not help but hinders (an encumbrance.)
Streamline growth as Christians, making the most of every second of every day.
Growth mind set!
What is needed?
Keep seeking ways to be more effective for God. Looking for the next edge to being a better solider.
Looking for the edge to being a better disciple of Jesus. Not wasting a single moment!
It is easy to say but hard to do!
Fellow men of God, what you will get is satisfaction from the hunger for righteousness.
Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied”
You get the Joy of persisting through the trials of life cf. James 1.
You get maturity in the Lord Jesus.
You get closer to God!
Man of God, look at your lives. Be honest and drop the stuff that is holding you back form excellence, now.
Push fear aside. Push anxiety away and get after it! Be the Man of God!
